Role Overview:
As the Business Development Manager at Afros In Tech, you will play a key role in expanding our platform’s reach and impact through strategic collaborations, sponsorships, and revenue generation opportunities. You will identify and engage potential partners, negotiate contracts, and develop strategies to achieve business objectives. This role requires strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a passion for promoting diversity and inclusion within the tech industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Partnerships and Sponsorships:
– Identify and establish strategic partnerships with organizations, tech companies, and industry influencers aligned with our mission and values.
– Negotiate sponsorship and partnership agreements to drive revenue and enhance community offerings.
2. Revenue Generation:
– Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, including advertising, sponsorships, and premium services.
– Collaborate with the marketing team to promote revenue-generating opportunities effectively.
3. Community Engagement Initiatives:
– Create engaging community initiatives, events, and campaigns to enhance user engagement and attract new members.
– Identify opportunities for community collaboration and participation to foster a vibrant tech ecosystem.
4. Market Research and Analysis:
– Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, user preferences, and potential growth opportunities.
– Utilize data insights to make informed, data-driven business decisions.
5. Competitive Analysis:
– Monitor industry trends, competitors, and market developments to stay ahead in the tech community landscape.
– Identify areas for differentiation and develop strategies for competitive advantage.
6. Contract Negotiation:
– Lead contract negotiations with partners, sponsors, and vendors to ensure favorable terms and mutually beneficial agreements.
7. Relationship Management:
– Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
– Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of partnership initiatives.
8. Reporting and Metrics:
– Track and report on key business development metrics and partnership performance.
– Present progress reports to leadership and stakeholders.
9. Diversity and Inclusion Advocacy:
– Advocate for diversity and inclusion within business development practices, ensuring representation and empowerment of underrepresented groups in tech.
Qualifications and Experience:
– Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
– Proven experience (5+ years) in business development, preferably within the tech industry or community-focused organizations.
– Strong understanding of business development principles, market analysis, and partnership strategies.
– Track record of successfully negotiating and closing business deals.
– Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with diverse partners and stakeholders.
– Analytical and strategic thinking to identify growth opportunities and revenue streams.
– Familiarity with social media platforms and online communities.
– Experience in sponsorships, advertising, or partnerships is a plus.
