As the Event Coordinator at AfrosInTech.com, you will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and managing a variety of events to foster community engagement and provide valuable opportunities for our members. You will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and community members to create memorable and impactful events that align with our platform’s mission and values. - Event Planning and Execution
- Develop and execute event plans, including virtual and in-person events, webinars, workshops, and networking sessions.
- Handle all logistical arrangements, such as venue selection, vendor management, catering, audiovisual setup, and event registration.
- Content and Agenda Development
- Collaborate with content creators and subject matter experts to design event agendas that offer valuable insights and experiences to attendees.
- Ensure that event content aligns with our platform’s values and is relevant to our community’s interests.
- Promotions and Marketing
- Develop marketing strategies to promote events and increase participation.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to create event collateral, social media campaigns, and email communications.
- Attendee Engagement and Support
- Interact with attendees before, during, and after events to address inquiries, provide support, and gather feedback.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all attendees.
- Sponsorship and Partnerships
- Identify and secure event sponsorships and partnerships to enhance event offerings and resources.

- Budget Management

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in event planning and coordination, preferably within the tech industry or community-focused organizations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in event management software and online event platforms.
- Creativity and innovation in designing unique and engaging event experiences.
