We are seeking an experienced and people-oriented HR Manager to join our team and support the growth and well-being of our vibrant community.

Role Overview:

As the HR Manager at AfrosInTech.com, you will play a critical role in fostering a positive work culture, attracting top talent, and ensuring the well-being of our team members and community contributors. You will lead HR initiatives, provide guidance on HR policies and practices, and collaborate with management to develop strategies that promote diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, a solid understanding of HR principles, and a passion for promoting diversity and inclusion within the tech industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Talent Acquisition and Recruitment
    • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process to attract and hire top talent for the organization and community initiatives.
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies and source candidates from diverse talent pools.
  2. Onboarding and Orientation
    • Facilitate the onboarding process for new team members and community contributors, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
    • Conduct orientation programs to introduce them to our culture, values, and platform.
  3. Employee Relations
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee-related concerns and queries, fostering open communication and resolving issues.
    • Promote a positive work environment by addressing employee needs and facilitating conflict resolution.
  4. Performance Management
    1. Collaborate with management to develop and implement performance management systems, including goal setting, performance reviews, and career development plans.
    2. Provide guidance on performance improvement and recognition initiatives.
  5. HR Policy and Compliance
    • Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
    • Keep abreast of HR best practices and industry trends to maintain an inclusive and fair work environment.
  6. Diversity and Inclusion
    • Advocate for diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization and community, promoting equal opportunities and representation.
  7. Employee Benefits and Compensation
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
    • Participate in salary benchmarking and compensation reviews to ensure competitive and fair pay practices..
  8. Learning and Development
    • Coordinate learning and development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members and community contributors. 
  9. HR Reporting and Analytics
    • Generate HR metrics and reports to monitor key HR indicators and trends.
    • Use data insights to make data-driven decisions and improvements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in HR management, preferably within the tech industry or community-focused organizations.
  • Solid knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, and onboarding processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster a positive work culture.
  • Familiarity with performance management and employee development practices.
  • Experience in diversity and inclusion initiatives and promoting equitable work environments.
  • – Ability to handle employee relations and conflict resolution with empathy and professionalism.
  • – HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • – Passion for promoting diversity, inclusion, and representation within the tech sector.
